The beautiful “school supply” Christmas tree in the Elementary Department demonstrates the wonderful resourcefulness of our staff. Many thanks to Loria Smith who decorated this tree for us! What a unique idea to use school supplies for ornaments! That is just one example of how our staff use their creativity each and every day to develop lessons and activities for our students. They are simply awesome! Another example of that awesomeness is our own ASD graduate and teacher, Toni Davenport! She wrote a story that will be used in our Christmas program this Thursday at 9 a.m. The name of the story is, The Deaf Elf, and it is written in honor of her nephew, Daniel Davenport. First through fourth grade classes will present this special story. I would not at all be surprised if you happen to see this story in print in the not-too-distant future! In addition to this we have three other terrific performances from the ASL Preschool and Kindergarten classes, the LSLP Preschool and Kindergarten classes and the first grade classes. Many thanks to our teachers and aides for these classes who have worked tirelessly with the students to prepare for this program! It will be great, so don’t you dare miss it!! And to all of our very special parents and families, we wish you a safe Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
